Confidence and Fear

I’ll take fearless over confident every day.  They are different.  To be confident is to believe that I have what it takes.  That I possess the skills, abilities and physical attributes needed to succeed.  Fear creates doubt.  Fear erodes my belief that my skills, abilities and physical attributes are enough.  Fear easily overrides confidence. To be fearless is to calculate the odds and chooses action even though my skills, abilities and physical attributes are not enough to win.  Fearless, requires setting aside my requirement to look good and be right.  Ironically, fearless always wins and always looks good because it always chooses action.
